Trainings
The Family Conference
The family is the cell of a society, yet marriage is the center of that healthy home.
Through the “Let’s Talk Family” Conference, we aim to bring together married Christian couples to discuss topics of interest to the family and managing with the environment as a reality in which we raise our children.
Child Protection
The Assembly of the Republic of Kosova approved the Law on Child Protection, on June 27, 2019. Until this date, Kosovo was without a law on child protection. The vast majority of organizations in Kosovo do not have child protection policies within the institution.
Scripture Union has organized and intends to organize on a regular basis trainings in the field of child protection. Our aim is to also raise awareness on this delicate subject.
Camps
Summer Camps lie right at the heart of SU Ministry all over the world, as well as at the heart of Scripture Union Kosova. The history of our Summer Camps in Kosova is not that long. We are committed to summer camps, we intend to organize winter camps in the future.
At this stage, however, the summer camps are non-residential and are dedicated for children and young people. During the 3-5 days our camps last, Christians and Muslims are touched by the Word of God. Our camps are prepared in a way dedicated to Christian children as well as camps for non-Christians.
In addition, our camps also differ in organizational aspects. Some camps are sports in nature, in which case we enter into partnerships with local churches or other public institutions. Through these camps, children and young people practice different sports skills and techniques, of different sports. Of course, the most popular sports in Kosovo, such as football and basketball, cannot be ignored. However, attendees also practice in other sports such as Hockey, Frisbee, etc.
In whichever case of the camps, acquaintance with the Word of God and the Creator are at the heart of our activities.
Of course organizing camps has its challenges. Among the most significant challenges for the SU Kosova ministry are: the high running costs which becomes difficult to afford; the lack of volunteers given the fact that in this part of the world volunteering is not favored because for so many years people have been forced into volunteerism for the Communist Party. However, by the grace of God, we have seen that these challenges have been greatly overcome.
